The Storming of the Bastille, 2023 is a photography series shot with Ilford HP5 Plus documenting the Paris manifestations and french strike culture. Popular demonstrations took place in France in January 2023 over the proposed increase in retirement age. These developed into a protest against the breach of democracy as the French government forced the policy through instead of the standard procedure of passing it to public vote. More recently there have been violent manifestations over police brutality.
